IMI PBM bottom outlet valves for industrial applications
IMI PBM’s 2-way bottom outlet valves are developed for a wide range of applications in tanks, vessels, and reactors. The valves are available in two variants:
• FT Series with a straight valve stem
• AF Series with an angled valve stem, providing space for actuators on tanks and reactors equipped with insulation jackets
Efficient operation and positive sealing
The valves operate with a simple quarter-turn, and spring-loaded thrust washers ensure positive sealing. The stem assembly is designed for actuator mounting, allowing precise control and extended service life.
Safe and user-friendly handle
The handle is made of stainless steel with a vinyl coating for secure grip. The handle position clearly indicates whether the valve is open or closed and can be equipped with a safety lock for added protection.
Unique Adjust-O-Seal® technology
With the unique Adjust-O-Seal® technology, the valves can be adjusted in-line to compensate for normal seat wear. The valves are also rated for full vacuum.
Hygienic and efficient seat design
Full upstream and downstream sealing enables complete cleaning, flushing, and draining of the valve body. This minimizes media build-up and maintains high process hygiene.
Customization and additional features
IMI PBM’s bottom outlet valves can be customized with a range of options, including:
• CIP and drain connections
• Patented locking handle
• Filler material to minimize cavities behind the valve ball, reducing dead zones where media can accumulate and contaminate the process
Fire-safe bottom outlet valves
The AF and FT series valves are also available as fire-safe models, suitable for flammable media in industrial process environments. These valves are API-607 certified and feature a metallic back-up seat against which the ball seals if the primary PTFE seats melt during a fire. This metal-to-metal seal limits leakage in fire scenarios.
