For sanitary process environments
IMI PBM offers a range of sanitary valves available with fire safe certification, making them suitable for handling flammable media in sanitary process environments.

Fire safety
The valves are certified according to API-607 and feature a metallic back-up seat that the valve ball seals against in the event of a fire. If the primary polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seats melt, the metal-to-metal seal engages, significantly limiting leakage.

Design and cleaning
The internal seat design ensures effective cleaning and allows full flushing and drainage of the valve body. The valves are rated for full vacuum and designed to meet stringent sanitary process requirements.

Customization options and process optimization
The valves can be supplied with multiple options such as CIP and drain connections, patented locking handles, and packing material behind the ball. This packing material minimizes dead zones where product residues can accumulate and potentially contaminate the process.
